At Freedom Riding, volunteers are the heartbeat of everything we do. When you join our herd, you’re not just helping a nonprofit — you’re becoming part of a community where rescued horses, gentle goats, curious chickens, and people of all ages come together to heal and grow.

Animal Care & Companionship

Our animals thrive on routine, kindness, and connection. Volunteers help with:

Feeding and watering

Grooming horses and brushing out manes and tails

Cleaning stalls and refreshing bedding

Walking animals or simply keeping them company

Helping our rescues feel safe, loved, and understood

No experience? We’ll teach you everything you need to know.

Farm & Facility Support

If you enjoy hands‑on work or being outdoors, we always need help with:

Fence repairs and pasture maintenance

Tack cleaning and organizing

Barn upkeep

Light carpentry or repair projects

Keeping our spaces safe, clean, and welcoming

Every improvement you make directly supports the wellbeing of our herd and the people we serve.

Advertising & Outreach

Help us spread the word so more families, veterans, and community members can benefit from our free programs. Volunteers can assist with:
